I've been getting a number of notices that subscribers subscriptions have been disabled due to excessive bounces. You
all might want to check and see that your email is working properly and that you are subscribed with a working email
address.

Greetings!
I have missed the list, too.
Hch 120, i want to let you know that i found out i have only about 40
Bottle Onion Seed left, and they are even older than i remembered from
'04'. Chances are they won't be viable. Maybe i will just sow them as
see - but having 20 of these oldies may not be worthwhile. Last i
heard, Jeptha Yoder sells sets for them..... was sets for 4.00 lb + 4.00
shipping and that was 2-3 years ago.
There is a thread on this at Gardenweb :"Source for bottle onion seed"
You may be able to ask someone like Brook Elliott if he has more. Never
know about him. Perhaps you can find the source from some of the folk on
that thread.
Also, i replanted my bulbs to make seed, and only 1 of each 3 sent up a
flower stalk! Still, i had about 7 blooms at the time, and quite a lot
of seed, which ishared away at the time. If i have luck with these few
seed, it will be a few years till we have more seed to share, but i will
give it a try just to keep them going around. This onion had alot of
thin layers, with only the outer one reddish. It only stored okay - not
long enough. Still they are pretty - but not thrillers! After i grew
them for a few years, i wondered what all the hype was about them....i
LOVE growing many alliums aside from Bottle Onions.

A hearty and public THANKS, Woody! Today, your generous gift of the
onion seed and other treats arrived. Whenever seed comes, it feels like
a holiday to me - i really appreciate all the traders and sharing
gardeners.
We all so benefit from places like this good list. It's like being a kids
in a candy store sometimes.
Good growing, All herein........and Woody, you're great! My onions are
already sown downstairs.

May i ask how you folk clean your saved lettuce seed? I save alot, and
love to send out clean seed. Lettuces have so much chaff and are so
lightweight. How can i make it lovely?!
