The NC Million Mom March and Guilford College Art Department.
To provide student artists from across the state of North Carolina the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work and interact with fellow art students, area professional artists, gallery owners and the general public. To also educate NC citizens about the mission and goals of the Million Mom March United with the Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence.
The Million Mom March United With The Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence is a national grassroots, chapter-based organization dedicated to preventing gun death and injury and supporting victims and survivors of gun trauma. Like the majority of Americans, we favor sensible gun laws to protect our communities from gun-related trauma. Our goal is to save lives by working for the adoption of sensible gun laws, educating the public about preventing gun violence, and to offer compassionate support to the victims and survivors of gun trauma. The issue of gun violence in America is a public health issue, a family issue, and a moral issue.
Through Million Mom March Chapters across North Carolina, we are currently working to establish: (1)licensing of handgun owners, (2) registration of handguns, (3) creating consumer product safety standards for guns, (4) closing the "gun show loophole," and (5) limiting gun purchases to no more than one a month. For more information, contact us at email@example.com.
This exhibition will be juried by a panel of distinguished artists and faculty from North Carolina College Art Departments. The sole purpose of the jurors for this event will be to make decisions based on space limitations. No awards will be given for this event as it is strictly an exhibition and sale of student art work and not a contest.
All of the works are available for purchase unless designated "NOT FOR SALE" at the time of entry. The NC Million Mom March will facilitate sales. Artists will retain 70% of the sale price with the remaining 30% to benefit outreach programs of the NC Million Mom March. Sale prices may not be changed.
