Hello Apollo friends,

a new Project Apollo release is available at SourceForge.
For download look here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/nassp/

The new release contains mainly bugfixes, the following features seem to be extra noteworthy (just my personal favorits):

* The new CM entry aerodynamics are now complete including documentation in the in-game help. Now you can fly a realistic manual entry. Do you have the right stuff? Thanks to Chode for this cool feature!

* You can hear "flag planting" sound during lunar EVA. Thanks to Movieman for this cool feature!

* The CSM main and docking panels are fixed and improved for use with ATI cards, now use CTRL -> and CTRL <- to switch between the panels and CTRL up/down to change illumination state. The right MFD is available on the docking panel. Thanks to Yogenfrutz for this cool feature!

* Many ullage and retro rockets used during Saturn staging are added. The Saturn attitude on the pad and during earth orbit insertation is realistic now. And the Accel G meter is fixed, we are no longer weightless on earth. Thanks to Chode for this cool feature!

Some people complained about the file size, so Project Apollo 6.4.0 comes in 2 versions: A standard zip-archive of about 40MB and a new 7z-archive of about 25MB. Use the open-source tool "7-Zip" to unpack:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/

There's no new NEP version, NEP 050223 should work with both 6.3 and 6.4.

The complete list of changes:

* Revised LEVA code, with 'flag planting' sound support.

* Fixed distorted panel with ATI cards, now use CTRL -> and CTRL <- to
switch between the panels and CTRL up/down to change illumination
  state.

* Fixed CSM docking view/panel. Additionally The right MFD is now
  available on the docking panel.

* Fixed bug that Saturn 1b virtual cockpit is incorrectly placed
  prior to orbit.

* Fixed up the LEM to work around missing sound if we switch to the
lunar astronaut immediately after creating them.

* Adjusted astronaut mesh position to make the walk closer to the
  moon's surface.

* Turned more sounds into mission-specific sounds for NEP.

* Added reentry documentation, cleaned up and added checklists.

* Changed name of help file to Project_Apollo and changed help
  references in config files.

* Fixed bug that caused CTD when pressing Shift-~.

* Fixed touchdown points on LM ascent stage so it doesn't fall
  when released.

* Made changes so that the Saturn V launches "heads-down".
  Scenarios changed as well.

* Moved Pad 39A so it registers better with the tile.

* Added the roads and tanks mesh to Pad 39B.

* Rotated and moved towers so they are to the north.

* Added retro rockets to SII stage.

* Fixed bug that caused the parachute drag to be too low.

* Corrected the position of the separation rockets for the
SIVB when separating from the SIB.

* Fixed bug that caused the CSM RCS flames to be in the wrong
  positions late in the mission.

* Now calculate the axial G force so that the panel gauge works
  like the real one.

* Fixed the positions of the SIVB RCS thrusters in Saturn V and
  Saturn IB.

* Fixed bug that panels forget illumination state when you switch
to VC. The current panel is now stored in the scenario/save file.

* LM exhaust flames are now correctly placed.

* Added "intermediate" scenarios for Apollo 11.

Cheers

Keep up the good work. Still got a long way until the addon is done but looks like good progress is being made.

Project Apollo - NASSP Patch 6.4.2 released

A new Project Apollo patch is available! For download look here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/nassp/

This patch fixes some bugs in the Apollo 4, 6, 7 and 8 missions.
Thanks to xerozohar for pointing that out!

It also adds a wonderful graphic made by FordPerfect answering the most frequently asked question: "How can I separate the CSM or the CSM/LM stack from the SIVB?" to the Doc/Project Apollo - NASSP folder.

You don't have to install them, but it's recommended because they're fixing some bugs...
