Hi Apollo fans,

a new beta modules pack is available here: http://nassp.sf.net/wiki/Installation. Please make sure that Orbiter 2006-P1 is installed. Also please make sure that you do a CVS Update of all directories, that means the Config, Doc, Meshes, Orbitersdk, Scenarios, Sound and Textures directories.

This beta introduces a couple of new features:

  • New implementation of the IMU PIPAs (Pulsed Integrating Pendulous Accelerometers). They should provide greater accuracy, the more obvious advantage is the higher numerical stability during time acceleration, so it should be able now to use time acceleration up to about 10x during Average G mode (ascent, P4X, entry). You probably won't notice that, in fact you shouldn't notice any huge differences, otherwise please post in the IMU thread, it could be a bug

  • Improved joystick support, new and improved Translation Hand Controller, see the THC and the Launchpad Configuration Options wiki articles and the "Joystick Setup" forum thread.

  • The missing SCS dV mode of the SPS and, related to that, the EMS delta velocity functions have been added, see the SPS and the EMS wiki articles and the status reports in the "Programming" forum. For my part the SPS is finished and ready for release, so comments, bug reports and SPS feature requests are welcome!

Have fun, comments and questions are always welcome! Happy

Cheers
Tschachim

Awesome! Got some free time again to enjoy this wonderful work!

Initial feedback on this is all good!

Is Manual TVC implemented? I didn't seem to get it going (if it is..then its me and spacecraft setup Happy...if its not then okay.)

Thanks!  Happy

Manual TVC is implemented, how to use is explained in the SPS article in the wiki.
... and you need a joystick configured in the Project Apollo Launchpad Configuration Options for MTVC.

Marvellous!
As I suspected, it must be 'Astronaut (Orbinaut) Error', I give all the new features of a new version a quick 'once over' and then come back and look in more detail.
