Hi Developers,

while working on some improvements of the sextant and telescope panel (news will follow soon...  Happy ) I was getting pretty much annoyed of the vast amount of files in the Orbitersdk\samples\ProjectApollo directory. In order to improve that I would like to move the bitmaps (.bmp files) to a Bitmaps subdirectory as it already was in NCCP as far as I remember. Please post here if you see a problem with that or if you don't want me to do that for whatever reason.

Cheers

Well, to date, I have 210 bmp files totalling 69 megs in that directory. What would be the advantage of moving them to another directory?

easier to sort through what is sourcecode and what are resource files.

My Project Apollo Work:
CM Visual
-VC (~75% complete: texture work beginning again; mesh-78%; texture-70%)
Propulsion Particle Improvements (Focused on S1B right now, BETA 1.0 has been commited)
New Docking Method (~50% complete: research complete; coding partially completed, testing not underway)

Future Work:  (if it's here, it's deemed unnecessary to upcoming release)

Older Work:  (if it's here, it's fair game to whoever wants to improve)
EMS Implementation (committed: minor flaws, but groundwork is there, needs extensive testing)
EMS scrolls (committed: not refined, but usable)
SM Visual (committed: mesh-finished, texture-60%; possibly revisited in future)
J2 Texture (commited: room for improvement)
LRV (committed: mesh-finished, texture-90%; in future a ground up rebuild may be in order, but not on my plans)

Yes, as Swatch said, it's more clear and easier to browse because both directories will have only about half of the files as before. No functional change, just file organization.

I understand, but I can simply right-click and 'Sort By File Type' to list selectively, and change the View to Thumbnail to present a page of previews.

Yes, I was doing these mouse clicks since more than 2 years, getting more and more annoyed by that, but always to lazy to clean it up. Last week the my annoyance grew bigger than my lazyness...  Wink

Changes are committed, I hope I changed everything properly. All developers update their Orbitersdk directory please and put new bitmaps to the new Bitmaps subfolder.

There are 2 bitmaps left I can't delete because Radu and Henry Hallam have an CVS Edit on them, I asked the SourceForge staff to delete them, so I hope this last issue will be resolved soon. Please just ignore these 2 files until then.

Great news Thumbs Up Thanks a lot for moving the bitmaps.

It was rather annoying, searching .bmp files mixed up with code files. Another annoying things are the old NCPP bitmaps which will never be required anymore...

Yeah, they are now in the "Bitmaps\Obsolete Bitmaps" subfolder, so they are out of the way, too.

I noticed that one of the old panel graphics still is in the new Bitmaps folder: "allround.bmp". It should be moved to the Obsolete Bitmaps folder.

I noted another three bitmaps in the bitmaps folder which aren't used anymore:

- light_rotary.bmp
- SCSBMAGPower_rotary.bmp
- VHFAntenna_rotary.bmp
