Thanks to dsky and kneecaps a complete version of the Apollo Operations Handbook Volume 2 of Apollo 16 is available: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=15413.0

The Apollo Operations Handbook (AOH) is one of the best documents about the CSM systems (there's a LM AOH, too). Volume 1 is a kind of "user manual" explaining each subsystem in detail, a complete version is available here: http://history.nasa.gov/afj/aohindex.htm

Volume 2 contains procedures for various mission phases similar to checklists, but more detailed and with additional comments. Only the prelaunch and launch procedures were available here: http://history.nasa.gov/ap16fj/aoh_op_procs.htm. This was the major resource for our prelaunch and launch checklists, but the rest of the document was lost.

Now a complete version is available and so we have detailed procedures for all mission phases now, many thanks to dsky and kneecaps for all your efforts!  Thumbs Up

Happy reading!

I was very excited to get to work on digitising this document! There was new information all over it for me! The malfunction prodcedures are my favourite, but all the procedural stuff is gold as it includes reason for doing things.

Yes, they're great, aren't they? Now we have really good documentation about what to do for example in case of a suit compressor alarm, see attached screenshot.  Happy

Hello!
I can't download this file. The download stop at about 20 mo on spacecraft.it. Somebody could put it on something like megaupload or rapidshare? Thats work for me. Or if you have an other link, it would be a good thing. If tried to find it, but with no success.
Thanks.

Drop Fabrizio (Dsky) an email. He runs the site and will sort it out. Let me know if he doesn't and I'll upload it somewhere else for you.

I would suggest that we get a copy in our own documentation library.

My Project Apollo Work:
CM Visual
-VC (~75% complete: texture work beginning again; mesh-78%; texture-70%)
Propulsion Particle Improvements (Focused on S1B right now, BETA 1.0 has been commited)
New Docking Method (~50% complete: research complete; coding partially completed, testing not underway)

Future Work:  (if it's here, it's deemed unnecessary to upcoming release)

Older Work:  (if it's here, it's fair game to whoever wants to improve)
EMS Implementation (committed: minor flaws, but groundwork is there, needs extensive testing)
EMS scrolls (committed: not refined, but usable)
SM Visual (committed: mesh-finished, texture-60%; possibly revisited in future)
J2 Texture (commited: room for improvement)
LRV (committed: mesh-finished, texture-90%; in future a ground up rebuild may be in order, but not on my plans)
