Oh, I see.  I don't remember IMFD having it either for Orbit-Insert.

And I'll see you next week when I come back.

Mini-Bug LTMFD LOI program: In Pri = ApAlt, if I set ApA to 0, it displays -1.7381M (altitude / distance mismatch?)
Yes, I forgot to add moon radius to input value. Fixed.

Question: Would it be possible that I enter the landing site, too, and the LOI program tries to optimize the landing site alignment, too (as far as possible)?

That's not yet implemented and I am not exactly sure how to do that. There are at least two different ways to align an orbit and I don't know witch one was used with Apollo.

Is there any information about orbital elements of CSM in lunar orbit ?

Most important is the orientation of line of nodes relative to landing site. If that's nearly 90 degrees, the orbit would be aligned with the landing site twice during a mission. (i.e. during deorbit and liftoff)

I've just tried out the DG_TEI scenario and got the same result as before, CTD shortly after the MFD is selected. I'm wondering if my older model machine is not powerful enough to handle the calculations Embarassed.

Attached is the debugging log from the test run.

Calculations are heavy and that's the reason why user must hit the EXE button to execute a program. It's not making any heavy calculations before that. The attachmet is empty but I don't think it would reveal anything new anyway. How large is the CTD problem, is there anyone else getting a CTD ?

Have you tried it in clean installation of Orbiter with stock delta-glider ?

I just got a though... Let's try dynamic linking and see what happens...

Probably yes, perhaps in the Mission Reports, I need to look around for that...

Cheers

Ok, founded the Mission reports from here: http://history.nasa.gov/alsj/alsj-mrs.html

Orbital parameters are in a format of Time, Lng, Lat, Alt. It's possible to compute more familiar parameters "Inc, LAN, AgP, LPe" from these parameters.  Thumbs Up

I see you found it, Jarmo! On a sidenote, the values given in the mission reports are exactly the numbers LazyD derived the scenario paramaters for the later AMSO "Lunar Module" scenarios.

My Project Apollo work in progress:
* New detailed Lunar Module Ascent stage with virtual cockpit (VC currently planned as eye candy only) 18 % done

My Project Apollo work to be continued:
* new Service Module SPS engine bell
* various Saturn V textures, exhaust textures
* SIM Bay for the SM

My long-term plans are to create a:
* New detailed Lunar Module descent stage (eventually models of all flown LM's)
* New F-1 engines for the S-1C stage showing the foil (batting) insulation
* New LUT and launch pad (if nobody else does it)

The first official version of LTMFD is released as well as IMFD 5.3. Let's hope that everything goes well.

Hello,

I have released new version 1.1 of LTMFD. Computational efficiency of TLI program is improved and the burn data is automatically recomputed/updated when burn data is requested via IPC interface. How ever, there is a minor limitation that LTMFD can't execute a program when the time to ignition is smaller than 300 seconds. This limit can be reduced if there is a need to.

Jarmo
