Does anybody have tried NASSP's current version on Orbiter 2016 yet?  Is it working?  Should it work?

Not yet, as far as I can tell. Most of the dev effort at the moment is focused on making sure things work for the 7.0 release on 2010. I believe things should work fine ATM, but one of the long-term plans with NASSP for 2016 is to redesign the spacecraft to use Orbiter's updated staging processes—this means taking the old Saturn spacecraft classes (which included the CSM and all the various Saturn launch stages) and separating them into their components, then getting the parts working independently before stacking them.
