Hello,

This is my first post and I'd like to thank all of you who have been working hard on this program, it's fantastic.

My problem is with the csm rcs thrusters (specifcally the yaw) not working.
This during the apollo 11 lunar liftoff scenario historical mission. Everything runs fine using V37N12. But once the LM makes it to the CSM and I transfer over to the CSM not all the rcs thrusters work. I've gone thru the checklists for csm rcs activation, but still no joy.

If anyone has any comments on this it would be great.

Thanks

Hi bg114,

I did that scenario a while ago, and lots has changed in the CSM since then, so the csm stuff in the scenario is probably obsolete.

One thing you could try is to start with the current Apollo 11 launch scenario, get to orbit, separate from the SIVB and make sure your RCS works, then save the scenario.  Now cut and paste the CSM part into the lunar liftoff scenario, and replace the RPOS and RVEL lines with the original.  You would probably want to change the propellant quantity and a few other things, too.

It's a work in progress!

Yeah, the RCS now has four propellant tanks, not one: so old CSM scenarios won't work unless you change the propellant tank levels.

Had the same problem on the apollo 11 scenario.
you need to change this line:

PRPLEVEL 0:0.682 1:0.452

into this.

PRPLEVEL 0:0.682 1:0.452 2:0.452 3:0.452 4:0.452

Also I found out the docking probe was disabled. add this

DOCKINGPROBE_BEGIN
  ENABLED 1
  STATUS 1.000
  EXTENDINGRETRACTING 0
DOCKINGPROBE_END

after  the

IU_END

line. Probably some other things which are not working...

Tschachim stated that only Launch scenarios have the corect format. All others are fair-game  Happy

Yes, changing the prplevel and enabling the docking probe has enabled me to succsessfully dock with the lem. I did have to keep the lem on prograde so as to keep the lem from rotating while approaching.

Thanks for everyones help.
