      • Kill Devil Hills, located in Dare County. Legend has it that the name for this largest incorporated municipality in the county comes from a brand of rum, Kill Devil, found washed ashore during colonial times.

      • The Insider's Guide to the Outer Banks - the online version of the travel book, this site offers information mainly geared towards tourists - but fellow North Carolinians might find some handy recommendations for restaurants and accommodations as well.

      The Sandhills - where golf, gardening, and pine trees reign supreme (Aberdeen, Raeford, Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Fayetteville)

      • The Insider's Guide to Golf in the Carolinas - this book covers both North and South Carolina, but as anyone who is familiar with golf will know, the Sandhills region of NC is one of the premier golfing spots in the world. (Even if the World Golf Hall of Fame was moved to Fort Lauderdale from Pinehurst.)

      • Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau - A very well designed, informative site about Fayetteville and the surrounding locales. Aimed with the visitor in mind, you will find maps, accomodations, special events listings and more.


      Charlotte - the biggest little city in North Carolina

      • Mecklenberg Online - "A website serving Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, the City of Charlotte, the towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Matthews, Mint Hill , and Pineville, Lake Norman, Lake Wylie &c." - very extensive, well-maintained and organised hierarchical listing of resources in the county of Mecklenberg, home to the ever-expanding city of Charlotte.
