EIGHT ALLEGED MURDERERS OF CONSTABLES ON THE RUN
Maungdaw, 14th December 01: One of the alleged murderers of four police constables and a prostitute in the night of the 23rd November at Laungdung police outpost was arrested from Zedibraung village on the 27th of November, according to our correspondent from Maungdaw, the western border town of Rakhine State, western Myanmar.
The Nasaka border security forces on allegation of murdering four police constables and a prostitute in the outpost arrested one Nurul Bashar, son of Badshah Mia of Zedibraung village, under Maungdaw township. He told the security forces the involvement of eight Muslim villagers from Zedibrung in the murder case. Though the rest of the gang left the place of incidence, Nurul Bashar returned to the village and was staying at his house in the village. Nurul Hashim (25), son of Rula Mia alias Maung Kyaw, a grocer near the police camp was alleged to have led the group of murderers. The grocer sold the police constables on credit various grocery items and he was not paid by the police constables which may have made him dissatisfied and encouraged him to organize the group of murderers, the source said. He has been on the run with the rest seven persons involved in the incidence of murder ever since.
The eight persons involved in the case are: 1. Nurul Hashim, son of Rula Mia, 2. Monia alias Ashraf Ali, son of Ali Akbar, 3. Nur Mohammad, son of Ishmail, 4. Abdullah, son of Amin, 5. Abu Alam, son of Basa Mia, 6. Shafi, Son of Syed, 7. Syed Alam, son of Lokman Hakim, and 8. Nurul Bashar, son of Basa Mia.
Our correspondent adds that, they have been absconding with the stolen arms and ammunitions from the outpost, and is supposed to be on the run in the Mayu hills. The entire border area has been sealed off ever since, and no traffic whatsoever is seen along the border. #
