The three arrested are: Muhammad Abdul Rashid (45), son of Muhammad Sultan Rahman;  Muhammad Alam (35), son of Muhammad Jafar Alam;  and Muhammad Alamghir (10) son of Muhammad Ahmed.  They all hail from Ukhia upazila under Cox'sbazaar district.

They were arrested, according to a sergeant in the Nasaka who told our correspondent,  when they were cutting down trees between the border pillars No. 42 and 43.  The Nasaka troops of Myanmar are preparing to lodge complaints against them under Myanmar law according to clause 3/1/13(1)  illegal cutting down of trees, and also illegal entry into Myanmar.

The officer-in-charge of Mouchira para police station under Ukhia upazila of Bangladesh sent a letter of objection to the headquarter of Nasaka circle 2 of Maungdaw township of Myanmar on 16th February 02, according to the source within the Nasaka camp who told it to our correspondent.

The residents of the nearby villages said that, it is not very unusual for Nasaka troops who in earlier occasions made intrusion into Bangladesh and arrested some of the Bangladeshi residents inside Bangladesh close to the Myanmar border and physically tortured and interrogated them about the developments along the Bangla-Myanmar border.   #
