NASAKA BURMESE TROOPS CAPTURE TEN BANGLADESHIS

Maungdaw, 12 April 02:
The troops from the Nasaka Burmese Security troops Area No. 3 captured ten Bangladeshi citizens from the border near Ukhia town on Bangladesh side, according to a source in Maungdaw, the western border town of Burma.

On March 27th, the Nasaka troops ambushed and caught the said ten men from a spot between the border pillars No. 37 and 38. The captured Bangladeshis are Anil Barua (35), Shubol Barua (18), Nishipadma Barua (32), Kalipada (35), Prafulla Barua (32), Babul Barua (32), Nibu Barua (18), Phato Barua (32), Ranjit Barua (15) and Kamol Chandra Barua (40).

The captured people are Barua Buddhists from the vicinity and they had bamboos and bamboo-cutting knives with them.

The Baruas living in the Bangladesh side demanded that, these bamboo-cutters were arrested by the Nasaka Burmese security troops by illegally entering into the Bangladesh soil.

On March 31, the captured Bangladeshis were transferred to Maungdaw, the border town in the western side of Arakan State.#
