30 Bangladeshi released from Burmese Jails

Some 30 Bangladeshi fishermen who were
released from various jails in Burma
returned home through Teknaf frontier on December 18,
according to today's local presses of Bangladesh.
Burma government
released them after a flag meeting between BDR and Nasaka
at Maungdaw, the port city of Arakan, on December 18.
Major Ashraf of BDR led the 10-member Bangladesh delegation at the
meeting.
The fishermen were picked up by the Burma border guards when
they were fishing in the Naaf River and the Bay.
They had been languishing in various jails of Burma
for long. #
