Burmese Foreign Minister meets his counterpart from
Bangladesh

Dhaka, 3 October:  The Burmese foreign minister met his counterpart from Bangladesh Tuesday at the United Nations.

The UNB reported that the two discussed matters of bilateral relations including cooperation in the communications infrastructure.

The two countries are developing infrastructure to link each other with a direct road link that can connect the South Asian country with the ASEAN via Burma.

On 29 September the minister delivered a statement at the 58th session of the UN General Assembly in Geneva.

He said that Burma has laid “firm foundations” and has now moved to “draft a new constitution and build a modern democratic nation.”  He also stated the seven-point roadmap of the Burmese junta’s new prime minister.

Bangladesh has not commented on the Burmese junta chief’s roadmap till now.  #
