In Combined Operation Burmese Muslims arrested


Cox's Bazar, 19 Feb: In a Police and BDR combined operation two Burmese Muslims were held from who are illegally staying in a local hotel at Cox's Bazar, Southeast bordering district of Bangladesh with Burma, reports a local newspaper on 9th February.


The arrested two are Mahabbat Ali (30) and Badsha Noor (25) of Nagpur village, Maung Daw of Burma. They are the active members of international smuggling syndicate and have been involved with illegal activities like drug trafficking and trans-border goods smuggling. A case has been registered with Cox's Bazar police in this connection reports the paper.


In the wake of worsening economic situation inside Burma illegal trade has been increasing and the bordering districts become rendezvous of infiltrators of Burmese citizen, says a local elderly businessman.
