Thirty-seven trucks were forcedly used in order to transport the officials of immigration and police officers who were in the rotation of their government duties in Three Pagoda Pass border town (with Thailand), a member of car association said.

LB No. 846, a new rotating battalion which is under the command of Western Command, arrived in Three Pagoda Pass town on 2nd March and battalion commander ordered trucks to transport the government servants who based in Three Pagoda Pass to their original administrative township in Karen State or Mon State. Every association of truck planned to give the trucks as they were being ordered and could not make refuse.

“They ordered we must complete in transport of government servant” said an In-charge of Car Association.   The Car Associations in Three Pagoda Pass town are ordered to send back the government servants along Three Pagoda Pass – Thanbyuzayat motor road, which is about 70 miles long.

The commanders forced to conduct their transportation from March 3 to March 10 within 7 days accordingly to the order. The drivers or car owners did not receive any fuel for their cars to use during transport of servants, but the concerned Car Association has to fill for it.

“If we go to as car porter service (for them), we could travel without troubles next time” said, Nai Jor, a truck driver.

The name of the local truck associations which were forced to involve in this tranport are Ramanya, Thanmyamtu, Htaw-mae-par, Pan-ya-gone, Aung-nan-daw.  Those transport ferry associations’ offices base in Three Pagoda Pass border town and most of car owners and drivers are from Mon State and Karen State.

The troops in Three Pagoda Pass use 8 cars or trucks every day for transporting or vehicle porter service for battalion’s activities. Normally, they provide fuel when they use on a daily basis to truck owners. But this time they did not provide any fuel.

Since March 3 when the Chairman of Karen State Peace and Development Council, U Tun Thein and the Secretary U Nu Lwin arrived to Three Pagoda Pass border town, the trucks that use the Three Pagoda Pass – Thanbyuzayat motor were ordered to cease their travels.   Some cars/ trucks are blocked on the half-way, accordingly to the source.

Similar to the rotation duties of Burmese Army’s troops, Karen State PDC also exchanged their government servants in this border town in a set time-frame.  SPDC does not appoint the permanent government servants and military battalion in this border town and exchanged them from Karen State and from other areas of Burma.
