A Mon National Revolutionary Army founder passed away

A Mon National Revoulation Army founder, Nai Pan Htar, passed away June 4 in Rangoon capital of Burma in his son house.

 

Nai Pan Htar 84, who involved in founding of Mon National Revolutionary Army since 1947 with Bo Thein who led and started founding Mon National Army.

 

His family made funeral yesterday according to Mon National Democratic Front source.

 

"Nai Pan Htar a respectful person for our Mon people," said Nai Hcwe Thein, Vice-Chairman of Mon National Democratic font who had been working with him for Mon people movement in the past.

 

"He was a workhard man. But he was easy to be angry. Even after during he relaxed he is keeping his job. He worked for our community long time."

 

"I repect him and admire him," Nai Hcwe Thein said.

 

Nai Pan Htar worked with Bo Thein, seized arm in Zar - Tha- Pyin village’s police force in Pha-an District of Karen State in order to found Mon National Revolutionary Army.

 

"He is not leadership. He is the person who booted the armed group. I respect him much. All of you should respect the person like him," said Nai Mya Thi a member of 17 youths who joined with Nai Pan Htar in seized armed.

 

The New Mon State Party also celebrates its revolutionary day on the day of Nai Pan Htar’s seizure of arms in Karen State in order to let the Mon people how the Mon armed struggle strated.  

 

Nai Pan Htaw joined Mon people movement for greater self-determination before Burma retained independence from British.  Later he joined Mon People Front (MPF). He involved when Nai Aung Tun changed arm for democracy during the era of U Nu’s government. He was arrested in 1962 when Gen-Nay Win seized power.

 

After his release he joined New Mon State Party for more than four decades and retired from NMSP and surrendered to Burmese military government embassy in Bangkok 1991.
