A GROUP of Myanmar merchant seamen returned home last week after surviving an explosion aboard a cargo ship off the South American coast.The ship’s captain, Kyaw Htay Oo, and five Myanmar crewmen died in the explosion, off the Colombian coast on February 28. A THAI company has been granted the right to fish in Myanmar’s Exclusive Economic Zone under an agreement that is expected for the government to earn more than US$260 million during the next five years, a senior official said last week.[Fullstory]
