A COOL change brought some relief for Yangon residents late last week after eight consecutive days when the temperature reached at least 40 degrees Celsius.The hot spell included a record April maximum in Yangon of 41.8 degrees. It was recorded on April 27, 21 years to the day from the previous record maximum in the capital of 41 degrees.The hottest temperature on record in Yangon is 42 degrees, recorded in May, 1988.The average maximum temperature in Yangon during April is 37.8 degrees. The average maximum in the capital during May is 33.8 degrees.
