Bangladeshi man arrested with two empty boats in Burmese
water
A Bangladeshi man was arrested in Burmese waters,
along with two empty boats, by
Burmese authorities,
near the
on 26 January, said a local police
report.
The man was arrested with boats named Hangsa,
while a
group of Nasaka
force, led by Myint Thein,
the head of
the Indam
Outpost, was patrolling the area’s Burmese
waters.
The Bangladeshi arrestee, identified as Sweyu
Darahman, is now under
interrogation in the Indam
Outpost, under Nasaka Area No 8 in
southern Maung Daw
Township.
According to local source, the boats did not contain
any goods other than two or three
small finishing net.
Nasaka sources said that other
boatmen fled during the
arrest of the two boats in
question.#
