Three Burmese nationals held in Bangladesh


Members of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) on March 28 and 29 arrested three Burmese nationals for their illegal intrusion in Bangladesh territory in Bandarban district, a hill tract district town of Bangladesh, bordering with Burma.


Sources said acting on secret information, the BDR men raided Lemuchhari village under Naikhangchhari Township and detained two Burmese nationals identified as Tha Oo Ching (35) and Thein Sein Aung (26).


Earlier on March 28, the BDR men raided Kijuree tribal village under Thanchi Township and detained a Burmese national identified as Ching Win Aung (23) as he illegally entered the bordering point.


Three separate cases were filed with Nakhangchari and Thanchi police stations.


It is a signal of action to Burmese national, who are illegally sheltering in Bangladesh, by Bangladesh authority, said a local resident.


According to sources, at least 16 Burmese and India nationals were arrested during the last few months from different remote villages in the districts of Bangladesh.#
