"It is setup by Thomas A. Godwin, MD Department of Pathology New York Hospital. This website covers all the details of the respiratory system. It deals with the structure and function of all the different parts and has the best pictures I have ever seen taken at the cellular level. You can most certainly use it in your lectures as well. I hope you find this as interesting as I did.
"Virtual Hospital is a trademark of the University of Iowa college of Medicine. There are close to 5000 pages on the website pertaining to things we have learned this semester. If you scroll sown to the "search" icon and type in "respiratory system", one of several pages will appear. I chose to evaluate "acute respiratory failure". This page was very useful in that it gave thorough descriptions and definitions and terminology that was easy to understand. I looked through several more on the site and all were very informative. Anything you'd want to know is on this site! "
I found these sites on the Internet. I was looking for information to help me understand the Respiratory and Digestive Systems since I didn't do so well on the third test. I wish I had done this last week, I now have a better understanding of the material.
"Another site that I got caught on for hours is the omni site presented by the University of Nottingham, UK. There is so much information ranging from simple to extreme lung diseases on this site that once you've viewed the simple, you are drawn to the more indepth."
Hopefully the sites will be of help and informative to others as they have and are to me.
"Here is another web-site i strongly recommend on Respiration. This site summarizes and defines this unit in a well written and understandable manner. It also has illustrations that were very helpful for me to understand the mechanics of breathing, inhalation and exhalation better. There is information directly related to the objectives we are covering presently in lectures.
Topics covered: Respiration, Mechanics of Breathing, Surfactant, Partial Pressure and Control of Respiration."
"I just found this great site! It includes a thorough study outline on the respiratory system, wonderful colored labeled diagrams, a quiz, and a word list. I have found this site to be very helpful because it works well with your study outline and I love the diagrams because they are very easy to follow.
