I would be glad of any help or advice about a female hummer who has
been hanging upside down from the perch of my hummingbird feeder for
about 30 minutes. I noticed her earlier refusing to fly (she was
drinking at that point) when harrassed by a male. She finally flipped
down and then dropped off and flew away. Now she's back. She was
drinking with one wing hooked over the perch. The she pivoted down
and is now just clininging upside down to the perch. I can see a
pulse beating hard in her throat. I went out but did not approach her
closely. I'm sure she has seen me from the window and the yard but
she doesn't startle and fly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
