American Pipit @ Lk D. T. Howell (nee Coddle Creek Res.)

Spent an hour at the N end (by the bridge) between 1530 and 1630 this
afternoon. The Pipit was observed in trees S of the rocks SW of the
bridge, tail-bobbing and all.

The reservoir is at full pond, as has been noted by others, so the
brushy areas N of the bridge on both sides of the channel are flooded.
Lots of hidey holes for duckies. Observed:

Green-winged Teal - 7
AmCoot - 100+
Ruddy Dux (M & F) 50+
Northern Shoveler - 1
Osprey - 1
Red-tailed Hawk
Cedar Waxwings - 34

Plus the more usual suspects: Mallards, GBHeron, common passerines, P-b
Grebe

BTW... Horned Grebes are present again on Lake Norman. Saw several
diving about 50m from my pier yesterday in the morning calm.

Cheers!
