bobolinks yes, no orioles

There was flock of 5 male bobolinks in the fields around the dairy farm at
Mapleview Farm this morning. First they were across Dariyland Road from
the pond and then perched on the wires before flying into the field that
had held the Longspurs this winter.

I also went by Anilorac Farm to look for Warbling VIreos and Dickcissels
but no luck there. THe farm house has lost one of the three large maples
in which the vireos nested. Mrs. Snipes said that it was lost to the ice
storm and that one of the two remainign will have to be pruned since it is
growing over the house. So, this may mean the end of the vireos.

THere were neither any Orchard Orioles not Indigo BUntings singin at
Alilorac. Has anyone else seen them yet in the Triangle?
