I have seen and heard singing three of these guys in three disparate
locations within a 50-mi. radius of Charlotte so far this Spring. They have
all had the exact same appearance. (I have seen/heard no fully
breeding-plumed ORORs yet this Spring.)
Q1: How long does the first-year plumage last? I.e., when does the fully
adult plumage make its appearance?
Q2: Are the birds I am seeing recently sexually mature? Their song
certainly sounds to be so.
Q3: Is anyone in my area seeing fully breeding-plumed ORORs? Do the
immatures precede the full adults in migration?
