Update on the "lost" NC Whooping Crane

Carolinabirders:

This was sent to me a few days ago --

"FYI: The crane was spotted near the Caldwell/Wilkes county line. By
the
time the USFWS got there, it had flown away. It was later observed over
the
mountains in VA. USFWS was monitoring to see if intervention might be
needed. The bird was heading north alone."

Glad to know the crane safely made it out of NC and has reached its
intended target of Wisconsin.
