Ridge Junction Results (8/21 & 8/22)

We were quite pleased with the results of our migration count for yesterday
and today. We had a total of 13 warbler species over the two days (11
yesterday and 10 today), and Dwayne finally got his nemesis bird---a
Kentucky Warbler! (I've seen it twice already.) This morning there was
quite a bit of avian traffic over the overlook and we probably missed
identifying over 50 birds due to them not stopping. Next Saturday will be
the Foothills Bird Club field trip to the overlook (located at milepost
355.8 on the Blue-Ridge Parkway, just North of the entrance to Mt.
Mitchell.) We will meet at the overlook at 7:00am. Keep in mind, if you
would like to join us that 80-90% of the birds we see are seen between 7:00
and 8:30 am. Here are our results below. First number is for Saturday
(8/21) and the second for Sunday (8/22):
