An interesting sighting day before yesterday, along the Cherohala Skyway
(Robbinsville NC to Tellico Plains TN):
a Junco completely white from and including the head, neck shoulders, back
and wings back to the near wing tips, and white on the underside to the
normally white area. The tail was typically dark and with the outer, white
tail feathers. In full sunlight, the white looked white-white; in shade it
was slightly--very slightly--greyish. The bird was with a small flock (8-10)
of ordinary Juncos.
Any comments? Has anyone seen a similar Junco?
