As the rains cleared yesterday (Monday) at my house near Pittsboro NC (about
1:45), I went out to see what I could see. Got great looks at a pair of
Black-throated Blue Warblers flitting among the sourwood leaves right off our
front porch. They were joined by a pair of Northern Parulas. Later at dusk,
just as the spiders were rebuilding their webs across our walkway, I got to see
the female B-t B return to the butterfly bushes near our screen porch. I sat
and watched her for about 45 minutes as she hid in the bushes, then popped up to
chase the moths that were coming in to the flowers. Saw her score two times.
It was all so close I couldn't even use my binoculars.
