Howdy
I was treated to a nice surprise when a female Red-breasted Grosbeak visited
my backyard. She stopped for a drink from the bird bath.
I haven't seen my hummer or catbird for over a week now. With all the winter
birds being reported online, that means we're almost past migration and into
the winter birding season. That means ducks and loons on lakes!!
I'm going to keep the hummingbird feeder up this winter. After hearing the
Sargeants talk in Charleston, I am inspired, and hope for a surprise winter
hummer! After seeing Judy's Anna's Hummingbird enjoying the pineapple sage in
Charlotte, I had to buy one too. Last week (after the summer hummers had
left!) the sage started blooming. Beautiful red flowers!
Have a nice weekend of birding!
