In the Triangle area, Winter Wrens normally arrive by mid-October, though
there are a few reports for September. I bet the situation is the same in
Gastonia.
Saw four of these cuties today (10/14) at Duke Forest Gate C - Shepherd
Nature Trail (on NC 751 in Durham). This is the spot where Jeff Pippen had
lots of birds on 10/12. No warblers or other migrants today.
