Today (10/23) I visited Harris Lake, Lake Wheeler, 1010 pond, and a farm
pond off Rte. 55 just north of Angier. Only the 1010 pond had no birds.
Here's the list by site:
Harris Lake
juncos
chickadees
cardinal
kingfisher
g.b. heron
d.c. cormorant
p.b. grebes
ruddy ducks
mallard
Lake Wheeler (from Penny Road causeway)
d.c. cormorants
g.b. herons
kingfisher
ruddy ducks
Am. coot (with the flock of ruddies)
Rte. 55 pond (Angier)
ring-necked ducks
kingfisher
I know the Rte. 55 pond had diving birds last year but I wasn't able to
identify them.
