Ducks arrive!

Tracy and I spotted our first wintering ducks of the year in the south
Raleigh area yesterday. The 1010 pond had 5 American Wigeon and 4 Ring
Necked ducks. Greenview Pond held 20-30 Green Winged Teal (and one female
deer). Lake Wheeler and the NCSU Dairy Pond had no ducks yet.

I've tentatively planned a trip to the Chesapeake BBT for the weekend of
Nov. 6-7 if anyone wants to share a ride (I'll drive). I'm planning on
heading up on Sat. AM, birding the bridge and surrounding area
(Chincoteague?), staying in Va.Beach, birding the bridge on Sunday and
returning mid-afternoon. Should have good numbers of sea ducks etc.
