Conway sewage pond, et al

Hello y'all,
Checked the Conway sewage pond for waterfowl today. New Rd. is still
underwater. Not much happening there:
Pied-billed Grebe - 3
Ruddy - 8
Ring-necked - 1
Am. Coot - 6
Many Palm Warblers, Yellow-rumps, a pair of B-G Gnatcatchers, a R-C and
a G-C Kinglet, along with numerous Song and Swamp sparrows and the usual
suspects. I'm quite amazed at how tame the Palms are; they were
literally "underfoot," and one actually perched on the body of the scope
while I was scanning the ponds! Also had a Green Heron who reprimanded
me for interrupting his fishing.
Checked Lake Busbee and found 200+ Ring-billed gulls and a pair of D-C
Cormorants. No Boneys, no terns.
Took a trip to "the country" to look for sparrows in some farm fields
off Hwy 905 N (having previously gained permission of the owners.)
Savannah, Song, Swamp, Field, White-throated and a possible Lincoln's,
along with lots of Kestrels and hawks; abundant Red-tails, a
Red-shouldered, Cooper's and a Sharpie. A kettle of 20+ vultures which
included 3 Black.
Not a spectacular birding day, but a good day nonetheless.

Cheers,
GP
