Ray "Iron Man" Sharpton has worked the hawk watch thrice in the past
week or so and reports the following:
Total hours: 16
Turkey Vulture -- 69
Northern Harrier -- 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk -- 9
Cooper's Hawk -- 1
Red-tailed Hawk -- 11
accipiter species -- 3
The northeastern hawk watches have been reporting good numbers of
Red-tails in the past week, so these birds should be moving through the
Carolinas now. As Jack says...sometimes you have to look up!
