I spotted a Bald Eagle at 1330 this afternoon near marker D4 on Lake Norman.
Bird was aloft and headed west over marker D5. Gave chase in boat and got a
close enough look to absolutely,
positively ID before he/she disappeared over the western horizon (prolly on
its way to Lake Hickory <G>) being harassed by several crows.
Also seen today on Lake Norman and at the shoreline:
More Common loons in groups of as many as 18 birds on the water
More Bonaparte's Gulls
More Horned Grebes
More Pied-billed Grebes
6 male Red-winged Blackbirds in a treetop with AmRobins
7;^)

There was an adult Bald Eagle at Lake Hickory this afternoon. It was seen
from Oxford Access harassing a Great Blue Heron. The heron finally flew
away and the eagle settled on a tree and was still there when we left 15
min. later. Also present was 2 Ruddy Ducks and many Pied-billed Grebes.
