Howdy!
For the past week I've been hearing the Tufted Titmouse talking a
lot.Yesterday I heard the familiar springtime high pitch call. When I looked
up, there was a titmouse shaking it's wings with another titmouse close by
looking on. What stopped the action was a third titmouse that flew in and
broke up the activity.
Has anyone else seen signs of this yet??? It does feel spring-like today
after a very cold week last week!
The Carolina Wren and chickadee were fighting over a basket in the front yard
yesterday.Plus, this morning, the Carolina Wren was checking out 2 nest
boxes. Hope they don't start building nests too early like they did last
year!
What will be the first bird of the year for you? I always like to make a note
of the first one I see. A Yellow-rump Warbler eating suet was my first bird
on Jan 1, 1999.
Happy New Year everyone and HAPPY BIRDING!!
