Carolinabirders,
On Jan 1, 2000 at the Falls Lake CBC I ended up covering areas for absent
birders, and tallied 71 species on the day. I think this is a personal
piedmont daily record for me, but with some relatively easy misses (phoebe,
turkey, horned grebe, loon and bald eagles) I really should've been closer
to 80 species. Nothing too extraordinary (like 20 crossbills!), but good
numbers
anyway.
