Spring's a comin'

If you have not already hit <delete> you are probably thinking this is a rather
obvious statement, after all it's the middle of February. I knew this as well,
but I've noted a few things over the last few days that put me in the warbler
watching mood.

Here's my top 5 list:
5. Gary's rufous departing for points unknown, but presumably back west
4. the male grackles in the neighborhood are starting to chase the females
around
3. we are now in the 10th consecutive week of woodcock displays at the house
2. spring peepers are a peepin'
and 1. the Pine Warblers at Hemlock Bluffs were going crazy singing today!

can the first Louisiana Waterthrush be far behind!

Best,
