MBSP on 4-11




Hi Carolinabirders,
	Today Gary Phillips and I birded at Myrtle Beach S.P. from about 9:30 to 1
P.M. We skipped the pier area. The weather was chilly at first but became
pleasant but a bit windy. Thirty Four species.

Green Heron-3
Glossy Ibis-3
Mallard-6 adult pair and 4 young
Turkey Vulture-1
Mourning Dove-5
Red-bellied Woodpecker-4
Downy Woodpecker-2
Tree Swallow-5
Blue Jay-lots
Am. Crow-1 heard only
Fish Crow-1 heard only
Carolina Chickadee-2
Tufted Titmouse-12
Carolina Wren-2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet-3 singing
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher-lots
Hermit Thrush-2
N. Mockingbird-1
Brown Thrasher-4
White-eyed Vireo-2 heard only
Red-eyed Vireo-4
N. Parula-2
Yellow-rumped Warbler-6
Yellow-throated Warbler-4
Prairie Warbler-3 heard only
Swainson's Warbler-1
LOUSIANA WATERTHRUSH-3 or 4 singing. One very well seen. An exceptionally
good number for the lower coastal plain.
Hooded Warbler-1 heard only
N. Cardinal-10
E. Towhee-4
White-throated Sparrow-12
Red-winged Blackbird-1 heard only
Common Grackle-6
Orchard Oriole-1 heard only

Butterflies seen were: Black Swallowtail-lots, E. Tiger Swallowtail-a few,
Cloudless Sulphur-1, some kind of Azure, and some sort of duskywing.
