Fulvous Whistling-Duck and Sandhill Cranes

Today, 24 November I saw a single Fulvous Whistling-Duck and 8 Sandhill
Cranes at Savannah NWR. The Cranes were seen in the fields approximately
300 meters before you get to the entrance of the Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive
on the opposite side of the road from the Refuge Visitor Center. The F
W-Duck was in the large freshwater impoundment at about mile marker 2 of
Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive. There were 1,000 or so dabbling ducks-a quarter
of which were Wood Ducks-along with this lone F W-Duck. I had no luck in
finding the White-faced Ibis, though I studied the Glossy's enough that I
will probably be able to recognize each individual when I return tomorrow to
resume looking for the White-faced Ibis. I'll post my results tomorrow
evening.
