Well, I've birded in a lot of places -- and gotten many a strange look for "pishing" to draw in chickadees & curious warblers, but yesterday morning was a special treat :)
After noticing a lot of warbler-type flitting & darting, I walked to the back of the property to see what was out & about.
After pishing for about 10 seconds, I had drawn in -- close! -- chickadees, both kinglets, Yellow-rumped warblers, juncos, etc. I continued pishing for a few more seconds, and was rewarded by seeing a larger bird fly closer & fuss at me. To my surprise, it was a Hermit Thrush, who was "pipping" and wing-flapping quite energetically. There was no question that the thrush was responding to my pishing, as it came closer & closer until it was literally 2 or 3 feet directly above my head.
No sight of the bluebirds yesterday, but I know they're around, as I hear them nearly every day.
