Smew in Missouri

Carolinabirders:
On the heel of a "countability" comment on Carolinabirds this morning, let
me shed a little more light on the sighting. This adult male Smew was found
by Roger McNeill on a recent Ventures trip to the Riverlands area on the
Mississippi River north of St. Louis, Missouri. Good identifiable photos
can be seen by logging onto the Ventures website (address below) and
following the links to "News".
Now it's up to us to find one in North Carolina!!! After all, they are not
uncommon all across Europe and Asia.
Good birding!
Simon
