Hello, this is a Dec. 14 updaet of the Carolina Rare Bird Alert featuring 
birding news from North and South Carolina sponsored by the Carolina Bird 
Club. Highlights on this report include:

GREEN-BREASTED MANGO (not )
CINNAMON TEAL
BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD
FULVOUS WHISTLING DUCK
SANDHILL CRANES
EURASIAN WIGEON

The GREEN -BREASTED MANGO present in Concord, NC for a couple of weeks has 
not been reported as present since Dec. 8.

CINNAMON TEAL can be seen in two locations in NC right now. A male has been 
present in Goldsboro, NC for 2 weeks. For directions and details call Eric 
Dean at 919-736-7264 for directions . Another male is present at Sunset 
Beach, NC. Call Mary McDavit at 910-.579-2409.

A male BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD is coming to a feeder at Sunset Beach, NC; 
very near the CINNAMON TEAL. Call Mary McDavit at 910- 579-2409 for 
directions.

A female BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD is coming to a feeder in Charlotte, NC. 
Call Linda Munoz at 704- 543-1845 for directions.

A FULVOUS WHISTLING DUCK is present in Goldsboro, NC. Call Eric Dean at 
919-736-7264  for directions.

Up to 4 SANDHILL CRANES have been seen near Hendersonville, NC. Call Wayne 
Forsythe at 828- 697- 6628 for directions.

A male EURASIAN WIGEON is being seen with a small group of Am. Wigeon at 
Greenfield Lake in Wilmington, NC.

The Outer Banks and other coastal locales regularly produce lingering 
passerine migrants. On 12-13 on Roanoke Island (NC) a BLACK AND WHITE 
WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA, and RED-EYED VIREO were seen together at 
Elizabethan Gardens.
