Where did they come from, we're not sure....this a.m.
my husband, Skip Hancock, was sitting at his desk (at
home here in Coinjock, NC, Currituck County) and a
large white fowl wandered into our drive way. Soon, a
peacock in full adult plumage joined the white bird.
We're guessing the white one was an immature male, or
perhaps an albino? we realize these are someone's
escaped pets, but have no idea where they came from.
They wandered out of our woods (we have about 14-15
acres in mixed hardwoods tampering off the bald
cypress where our property goes to the intracoastal
waterway) into our driveway. Skip put out some corn
which they liked, then they ambled over to our bird
feeding station, then off into our field which has
lots of brush cover for quail.
Oh well, makes up for all those missing goldfinces
we've hardly seen this winter!
