Hilton Pond 05/15/01 (Eyed Click Beetle)

HI . . .

If you've never taken a close look at an acrobatic Eyed Click Beetle
while it stares you down with its false eyes, you'll get a chance
this week at the Web site for Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural
History.

Just go to http://www.hiltonpond.org, click on the logo for "This
Week at Hilton Pond," and select the week of 05/15/01.

As always, there's an update of birds banded and recaptured--complete
this week with up-close photos of several warblers, including
Black-throated Green, Chestnut-sided, and Pine.

By the way, if you tried last week to access the stunning photos of
birds banded on International Migratory Bird Day, you may have been
deterred by a corrupted file, so you might want to look again at
"This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 05/08/01. Each thumbnail
of a Neotropical migrant is now linked to a new set of much larger
photos.

Lastly, if you're interested in natural history, please consider
joining the Nature Study Network via

Happy Nature Watching,
