Hi C-birders,

According to the Triangle Area Bird Checklist, this is the first sighting
of the species in this area in either January or February; it's rated as
"very rare" in the first week of December and "rare" in the third week of
March, with nothing at all in between. The CBC map at
http://www.mbr.nbs.gov/id/framlst/i6480id.html
shows them wintering only into Georgia, not even South Carolina. And
BirdSource's results for this year's CBC shows only one report north of
Florida, that from Little Creek VA.

And for anyone who noticed, yes, I meant "COMMON Goldeneye" in my report
yesterday from Falls Lake, not "American Goldeneye". Oops!

Good birding,

Josh
