Hello, this is a Jan. 24 update of the Carolina Rare Bird Alert featuring
birding news from North and South Carolina sponsored by the Carolina Bird
Club. Highlights on this report include:
BLACK-HEADED GULL
SANDHILL CRANES
LARK SPARROW
An adult BLACK-HEADED GULL is being seen among Bonaparte's gulls along the
causeway at Lake Mattamuskeet. Look on the east side of the northern-most
culvert.
Two SANDHILL CRANES have been seen near Edenton, NC. Look at the intersection
of Hwy. 32 and Soundside Rd.
A LARK SPARROW has been seen in Wilmington, NC recently. Call the Pryor's at
910-686-4580 for updates on if this bird is still present.
